Where does your car come from

Post by TooT »

Ever wondered where you car came from when new, have a look at http://waxxtm.com/registrations.html to find out.

For example my 406's last two letters are HN - Middlesborough

My work van has new style plates which start with YB - Leeds

My car has'nt travelled far to find me :P

Mines an AJ so it's from Peterborough, which is also where the dealer's told me they had to get it transported from. But the original number plates said "Oval Motor Company, Bath", so I dunno what happened there :?

Can't say it bothers me though :cheesy:

tsk tsk.

I memorise the reg of my cars within hours of getting them. For instance, with my new Coupe. I knew the reg fluently by the time I got home from the dealer.

:cheesy: Tis all in jest, the proper fitted mudflaps look really good in comparison to standard generic ones. Will get a pic when it stops pissing it down :frown:

New plates look very swish too.

I think what happens is the car get registered by a dealer in area say like mine Middlesborough and put on the forecourt or on demo.
Then one day a guy walks into a dealership in say Manchester and says to the sales guy "i want a Samarkand Blue V6 less than a year old", the sales guy looks on his computer and says "yes i can get one for you there is one in Middlesborough". The car gets transported to the Manchester dealership and then they stick there number plates on and window sticker.

My car was bought in Parramatta (western suburb of Sydney) then spent its life up at Nelson Bay (Coastal Town 180km north of Sydney), car was sold to the owners children who used it as a family hack and then sold to me :)

I have an Essex car!
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang
