To Buy Or Not To Buy

Post by PJ »

What's the verdict on Automatics? Is there a big difference in the fuel consumption or the reliability?

Personally I've always thought they make driving boring, but .................. I could be tempted with this :-
2000 Peugeot 406 2.0 Executive Auto petrol 47k £1995

Saw it advertised in the stealers not too distant.

AVOID!!
pug autoboxes are awful, depending on how lucky you are they last on average about 60k miles, and in 2.0 form they are woefully slow and MPG is rubbish

do a search there was a discusion about how bad the auto's are

Nuff said. One thing I've noticed while looking around, most of the auto's are low mileage ........... coincidence ......... p'rhaps not.

Thanks jameslxdt, I'll [s]try and[/s] will avoid them and look elsewhere.
