I always liked the car chase in French Connection, car vs. train.

From the IMDB:
Even though there isn't a note of music during the spectacular car chase, 'William Friedkin' cut that sequence to the tempo of Carlos Santana's "Black Magic Woman"

The car crash during the chase sequence, at the intersection of Stillwell Ave. and 86th St., was unplanned and was included because of its realism. The man whose car was hit had just left his house a few blocks from the intersection to go to work and was unaware that a car chase was being filmed.

The principal car chase scene was widely considered to be the best ever put on film at the time, overtaking Bullitt (1968) for that honor. 'William Friedkin' later attempted to outdo himself with a chase sequence in To Live and Die in L.A. (1985).
Car films, in no particular order: The Driver (1978), The Car (1977), Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry (1974) and (of course) Christine. Btw, anyone ever see this?

Ronin for me.
Fast and Furious has some nice car porn - shame about most of the rest.

Taxi
Taxi 2
Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (some of the non-CGI scenes are amazing, and they really did put a 350Z engine in that mustang!)
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang
