Got carried in the back of my own car....

Post by Welly »

For the first time evAr I became a back seat passenger whilst my missus drove

What a dissapointment  there was a booming sound in the back from the engine/eggsauce even though the eggsauce is fine. There was a horrible metallic clonking (which you can 'hear' a bit from the front but you can 'hear and feel' in the back) this was right under the seat bench so near the trailing arm bushes

Her indoors kept the thing in 3rd gear all-the-way down country lanes at about 45mph  (no comment of this could be made though, not with christmas coming) it was taken for an extended 2nd gear rev-out but not under any particular load or acceleration

Much prefer the front seats for sure.

Ever been taken for a ride in the back of yours? it's *weird*.

Ah well, it could have been worse, she could have been trying to do 50 in first... :P

I'll leave her to do that to her own car thanks.

God I feel sorry for the engine in that thing......start cold engine....reverse out to face an incline....GO GO GO.....eleventy thousand revs with cold thick oil. I did say something about it once, just once :frown:

i have but i was (ahem) slightly inebriated 8) so couldnt really assess the ride. and as i tend to distrust any1 else with my motor, itll be a while before any1 does drive it again

Yep, last year when I snapped a tendon in my finger and wasn't allowed to drive for nearly 2 months. Been driven about by my dad in my '6 and I loved it. I actually prefer being the passenger in it than the driver... and in the back seat. I didn't appreciate him driving 60mph in 4th but he wasn't used to being able to drive 40mph in 5th in his 1.5L diesel 106 (it's SLOW and needs hard revving to get anywhere).

People would have their legs shortened is anyone drove my car 45mph in 3rd :frown:
