Thinking of selling the Pug... for how much tho?

Post by PugOFwar »

Hi all,

As the title suggests, the time has come for me to sell up and move on to pastures new

I need a little help though... When i bought the pug the spec model that I had were going for around 1000 - 1500. Its a year and a half on now so I dnt know wot i can get for it.

The car is as follows ;-

2.0 lt 16v LX model 1996.
Milage 93,000
Interior condition Mint, no burns, scratches or any sort of wear and tear (and considering its a Bage interior its nice and clean)
Exterior condition Again, pretty mint. No dents or major scrathes.. there is the odd shopping trolly nic but thats to be expected.
MOT runs out in Jan however I will renew before I sell
Tax Again, runs out soon but I will renew.
So.. MOT 1year and Tax 6months. (providing it passes  )

Mods ;-
I have put a set of 17" wheels on plus an after market exhaust and air filter... all of which can be removed if it will increase the sellable market range.

Pics ;-

As you can see in the pics, the Towbar is broken... This has now been removed.
A recent pic of the pug Without the Towbar will be added soon.

Thanks for looking all and please let me know what you think it might be worth...

Thanks again,
James

Tidy bodywork so I'd suggest 500-800 if you replace the filter and exhaust.

The wheels do look a little small, how high does the speedo over-read?

Thanks for the reply..

As little as that :o I was hoping for the better part of a grand.

The wheels are coming off anyway and standard steelies going back on.. perhaps I should of said that  .

There 17s however they have low profile tyres on and when you stand them next to the originals theres not really any difference size wise belief it or not.. So im guessing the speedo isnt very far out at all, if out at all.

You might be able to *ask* a grand if you sell it in the local rag (e prepared to be haggled down a lot though), but with more and more people getting connected to the internet and using ebay, prices of pre-2000 cars are plummeting.

I'd take the towbar off. I assume she's had a shunt up the arse to bend it like that, and while the towbar may have protected the car from damage the fact that the towbar is bent just draws attention to the fact that it's had a shut.
