Hi All,

I just want to know what you guys think about changing the format of the website. Basically, what we have is a notice board / forum as the main site, I think we need to have a new frontpage / index, with links to other information before it opens to the forum.. So on that note, let me know what you think and what you would like to see on the homepage?

Cheers

Good plan!

Obviousy an intro bit needed, photos of cars, maybe magazine-esq articles about history of the 406 and some of the custom jobs done by our members (k3nny and lambo spring to mind)....

Looks good Niz. Hold on, what's this?
we even have skilled technicians from the motor trade
That would be James and..? :cheesy: :cheesy:

I was thinking that it would be nice to see a little history of the 406, I then had a quick look at peugeot owner's klub and they have one for the whole of Peugeot so...

And I'm sorry but the 4007 still looks like an extra from Thomas the Tank Engine to me :frown:

Ok, I just put the 4007 there because it was available from a website as a review of a peugeot at the time. But I agree it does belong with thomas!

I like it, looks as though it should always have been there! :D
I agree with Steve, some background info on the 406 would be good.

Sorry but I think it looks awful.

The choice of hideously modified 406s really doesn't represent the tastes of >90% of the userbase. The "www.406oc.co.uk" doesn't read very clearly and the banner background is a nasty shade.

Sorry, just what I think.

For me, the most important bit is still the forum, not the home page. As much as we are thankful that the forum lives on, not many of the suggestions that we put forward to nick have been actioned upon. I still don't like the plain blue background and it's hard to see where one post ends and the other starts. User info/avatar should be on the other side of the screen too. Bring back the old one!

But they're different shades of blue! I dunno, I kind of got used to the way this forum looks now.

I still think it would be more friendly to have some sort of welcome page at the top, maybe containing direct links to the forum areas (General, 406 oc etc.) but it would provide a buffer zone before visitors move on to the w@anking and bowel movement threads... :cheesy:

:arrowu:

Yeah, I'm kinda used to the forum too now, still think the old layout was slightly better though.

I had a quick look at the sample page last night, can't get it this morning (I'm guessing it's hosted on Niz's PC and he's still in bed with a hangover  8) ), thought it looks good. Could do with a bigger pic for a centrepiece, maybe random pics of owner's cars? And is the text a little small?

Generally a good effort effort though, keep up the good work Niz 8)

Yes I turn my machine's off when I'm not sat in front of them :) The text is set using the CSS small / x-small size attribute, this is a different value per browser but is valid markup... could try it @ Medium see how that is, it's only one word change to make the text bigger ! :D:8
