Fitted new radiator and fixed bike, Mwahahaha!

What a bitch of a job. The bottom hose was a rusted mess, the conrad fitting had totally disintegrated.
Stealer told me that the part is on back order & won't be available until March
I got a top hose from the breakers yesterday, cut it to length & chopped off the old conrad fitting from the bottom hose. Short length of 32mm pipe & 2 jubilee clips, fitted it all back together and filled it up, no leaks! Gave the car a good blast down the A3, normal running temperature & hot air out of the blowers, got home & still no leaks! Very happy man am I! And backlit buttons on the climate control!

And I got the bike back together! I needed a curved drift to get the bottom race out of the headstock; I used part of a head armature from an old hard drive, it worked a treat New races in & stem offered up, it all fitted perfectly & the steering lock lined up

By christ is my back aching though, it never used to when I was crawling under the car

Some jobs you dread and they turn out easy, others you think will go well and they don't

I have been putting off doing some jobs for my mum until last weekend. Normally every single thing you try to do at her house goes wrong, like the walls crumble when you drill for the wall plugs etc. or she buys something totaly unsuitable etc

So, there I was not looking forward to fitting a replacement louge ceiling light fitting, 2 replacement wall lights, a switched spur supply for a fire place and a replacement electric shower and it all went really well I was only there for 4 hours including the shower unit (which came with completey different centres for the water and elec so I had some plumbing and rerouting the cable to do and drilling masive holes through the wall tiles to the room next door etc

Nice one Welly! That had the makings of a couple of days work!
I rewired the outlaws cottage for them a few years ago. It was a total stripout job, everything rotten; chasing out the boxes and conduit routes was a bitch as the plaster had blown on several walls
It was not long after our first son was born, I was down there with one of my best mates who's a chippy (and a plasterer luckily!). The first few weekends down there turned into pissups!

You're getting old mate! It's bending over all the time, probably with the small of your back getting cold too. Mine's terrible, whatever I do these days my back ends up killing me. This afternoon I spent 3 hours pressure washing my other half's front fence and I can hardly move. I'm supposed to be repainting it next but sod that, I think I'll tell her it's not warm enough yet

I get aching thighs and arse after working on the cars these days. I'm just not used to all that kneeling / squatting down and more importantly the getting back up to go back to the tool box for the thing you've forgotten. Changed the diff on the jeep the other day, lying underneath the thing fighting with years of mud whilst trying to lift a very heavy diff into the axle then hold it in while you get a couple of bolts in.... arms, shoulders, back, the bloody lot was hurting!

Never used to get this problem when I used to ride my bike to work, now my daily exercise regime consists of 1 sit-up

I once heard a story where a woman came home and spotted her husband working under the car and decided to give him a "massage" while he was there. When he'd, umm, finished she went indoors to find her husband eating lunch - "hello dear, did you see my brother's come round to help?"
