Im trying to sell my harley davidson and this gem come to me yesterday , whats the best thing to do , string him along or report him somewhere ? ( the site was pistonheads.co.uk by the way )
Hello,
I'm very interested in your Harley-Davidson XL Hugger 883 that you have for sale on Pistonheads SITE.
I have to tell you that I'm currently out of country with some major business problems so I can come for collection only in about 2 weeks.
That's why I want to make a deposit of £900 to reserve the bike.
From my experience I know that certain listings are associated with fraudulent activity, as a precaution please send copies of the following:
- passport or driving licence
- evidence of address (utility bill).
- proof that the item listed is in your possession (Receipt, bill of sale)
As soon as I will receive these documents, I will send you the deposit using MoneyGram or Paypal.
My fax number is +44 (0)871 264 6046.
Send me also your phone#.
Cheers!
James Sadler,
just dip me in chocolate and throw me to the lesbians
Cheeky bastard!
I always thought these Phishing emails were automated, they're getting very sophisticated! Rapport25 became a millionaire recently ; he strung it along for a bit but it started getting very dodgy.
I'd just report it to be honest.
Hope you get it sold,I remember you mentioning your Harley a while back!

I was selling pedigree puppies and had them listed on various sites and had the same kind of emails - amazing but some people actually do fall for them - so I reported them to the websites they came through just incase some one did fall for it getting desperate to sell. They were mainly written in broken english and apparently are well known scams operating throughout the advertising industry. I'd say report it but if you want some fun you could reply with a psuedonym : Mr F.U.Imnotstupid

Sounds like the sort of data you need to open accounts and get credit........oh wait
Cars in my care:
2021 Kia Spottage 1.6 Pez Turbo Dual Clutch Gearbox Trickery
2013 Renner Twingo - donkey work
Had smiliar thing when i was selling 406, every email bar 1 i got was scam.
very easy to tell, poor English and always says "last price", anyone here ever asked someone what there "last price" was when buying a car? didn't think so, lowest maybe!
Hey - when I sold the BMW on Autotrader I included my mobile number, well, a few days later my missus came storming up to me with an angry face waving my mobile phone around......"whatever is the matter?" I said. "who the fucks this?" she exclaimed, it says here you want to meet single girls
Her opening the message subscribed me to there 'service' and after explaining and showing her the text 'STOP' to them thing then she was ok but it was a bit weird as she thought it was something I had invited
It seems you can't just sell stuff now without every Tom, Dick and Harry wanting a piece of you

I'm quite lucky in that respect, my wife never touches my phone
