I just washed my car. And rinsed it.
Then I washed it again. And rinsed it again.
AND IT'S STILL FILTHY!!!
Ever get the feeling you should have just dug out £5 for the car wash?
At least I've finally got round to re-fitting the fascia under the drivers side of the dash, and also put the door sill clips into use. Looks 1000% better now! Couple of questions about them though - firstly what do you guys do with the broken off bits? I tried levering them out, I tried pulling them out and ended up cutting the top off, so I've got a few bits rattling round inside... Also is there supposed to be silicone sealant between the rubber and the bodywork, or was that the legacy of a previous owner?

Well if you want to get busy with it you're supposed to use the 2-bucket system and rinse/leather etc. if your car is really dirty the water in your bucket gets more filthy and ends up back on the car. Do you have to wash your car on the street with no hose pipe to hand? if you can use a hose it's handy to rinse half way through whilst you wash the other side.
Those door sill clips just have to fall inside I think. The silicone sounds like an attempt to stick the thing back down but it shouldn't have silicone - it relies on the clips you break off with your shoe
I must get myself some clips next time I'm passing the stealers - I've got at least 2 broken

Nightmare. Have you not got anywhere you could hook up a hosepipe too? Even if you have to trail through the house & out through the letterbox every time it'd still save you a heap of grief. Alternatively, go to the jetwash!
My main problem is I can get it clean but it only stays that way for a matter of minutes

I could risk a cat chewing through a hosepipe or yanking it out of the tap, but the chances of me parking anywhere near the front of my house on one of the 3 dry days a year that are dry in England are far too slim to bother thinking about this. Then there's the matter of finding somewhere to stash it
Buckets and the Sainsbury's car wash are the best options until I can buy a house
