can anyone tell the weight of a 406 sri engine or an estimated weight as im trying to buy a engine hoist for lifting the engine

at a guess id say less than 150kg without the gearbox and probbably around 200kg with the gearbox attached
, i though most engine hoists are rated to at least 500kg's

it should be perfectly ok to pick one of them out as its only an 8valve engine with a turbo so on the scale of engines should be a fairly light one

well between myself and my brother we picked on up, loaded it into the back of a van, and then took it out again and placed it somewhere safe... I'd say it was about 250kg - 300kg with both manifolds, turbo, and ancillaries etc on...... the head is about 40-50kg on it's own!
