You learn (often when it's too late) that the secret to assignments/homework/coursework is to get on with it as soon as you are given it....something you feel like NOT doing at the time unfortunately :(

I been out for 13 years, but I'd love to still be there, I could happily be one of those perpetual students. But no, wife, kids and mortgage mean I have to work! :(

Maybe I should be seeking a job in academia.... 13 weeks holidays, mmmmmmmm

Like my other half, though she's the school librarian so doesn't have to spend half her hols doing course/paperwork. Bluddy cushy number if you ask me (although she is very over-qualified and does do a heck of a lot of teaching at home).

Stuff the summer, it's already been 35 degrees here and it's still spring :(

It did that here too this afternoon. Well, flash flood is more to the point. At least I don't have to spend an hour watering tonight and it's pretty cool so I'll sleep ok. Summer will be arround 40 and humid, I felt like a beetle last year scurrying between rocks. Long cold winters, long hot summers, there are some things I miss about the UK. The "summers" of endless cloudy days you can keep though :P

I'll be honest I hated school as well, I couldn't wait to get out and get a job. Sounds a bit odd I know but it's how I felt!

I know one thing for sure. I wish I could go back to school and do it all again - I would try a damn sight harder this time and ask questions instead of just plodding through missing the point :|

I got 5 'O' levels in Maths, English, Physics, Chemistry and Technology which is all I wanted to get to be honest (I just bodged the other 5 subjects on purpose) and then when I started work at 16 they sent me on a BTEC (ONC) course (thanks boss) this lasted 2 years and got me what is/was considered to be equivalent to 2 A-levels.

I wonder if we have any Hons Degree 'ers on here?...............
