Hi All!

Post by HimBigChief »

Hello all, new member here.

Just bought my first 406, it's a 2.1TD Executive saloon on an R reg. Will be picking it up on Thursday, so just thoguht I'd drop in and say hello as I'm sure I'll be asking lots of 406 related questions in the future.

As I said, this is my first 406 but I'm not new to the world of Peugeot. I've had upteen 309 GTi's, a few 405 Mi16's (inclusing a 4bie), the wifes got an '02 306 HDi estate and I'm currently using a 405 TD Executive as an everyday runaround (to be replaced by the 406).

So hello to all!

You know what, I do believe it does!

I'm quite looking forward to getting the car actually, although I do have one major question at the moment, and that is how noisy/loud should the 2.1TD engine be? It's just that it seemed a hell of a lot noisier than my current 1.9TD. Still, give it a good service and we'll see what we've got then!

Once I get the car back I'll check it out properly and then if it's going to last a while I may start tinkering about with it. Already been looking up about rechips etc! Obviously just for the economy  as I do 70 mile round trip to work everyday. Also saw a 406 in the Pics sections with a debadged grill, I do quite like that!

Thanks for the welcome guys!

Wow! all those Peugeots and he still comes back for more :P

The 2.1 is a fine engine, good choice there fella!

I very nearly bought a fine example of a 309GTi in 1994 (the car was a J reg) but I couldn't stretch to the £6,500.00 so bought a 309 GRi 1.6 (which I later learned had been jigged after an accident) sold it on after a few months - bought a 405GR which was fantastic!

Sorry to waffle on, but you started it
