All this talk of massive sales/bargains tempted an inquisitive Welly and his family down t'shops over xmas but all we found was the same old shyte you see every year [read: stuff no-one else would buy all year].
I've been keeping an eye out for a furniture item and a new cooker on t'web but have seen no evidence of any 'real' bargains yet
Is this all a big con to get us down the shops?
P.S does anyone want 3 pairs of Next hideously patterned summer shorts and 2 linen-effect Hawaiin patterned short sleeve shirts? (all XXL size)
Cars in my care:
2021 Kia Spottage 1.6 Pez Turbo Dual Clutch Gearbox Trickery
2013 Renner Twingo - donkey work
Well I hear B&Q pretty much doubled their prices over the autumn just so they could hark on about 50% off sales over xmas
I got a real bargain with those Valeo wiper blades 44x£18 blades for £40
and by the time it came to pay for cat number 2 at the vets, they were being rather generous with the billing too. Guess they felt guilty for taking so much money off me
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang
Going to the sales in search of a bargain would involve actually having some money (although I expect to be dragged to the stores to look at shoes very soon )

I managed to get quite a lot off the bills at the vets here by fixing some of their electrics

I didn't see any evidence of real savings, just a few quid here & there. Got a posher tumble drier for £50 off, which didn't seem too bad until I discovered it didn't have the auto shut off feature I really wanted
My fault I wasn't really concentrating having hurt my back the day before. I dumped the broken one in the trailer wondering how I was ever going to unload it at the tip.
Next morning somebody nicked it out of the trailer!
Guess that was a genuine saving....
