I dunno what you've got but here we have some sort of virus-induced respiratory infection, then the flu is supposed to arrive shortly, just what people need when they're already weakened by this virus thing. I expect the population will thin a little.
Strong black tea, honey, lemon. Plus the usual stuff - plenty of fluids, stay warm, vitamins + asperin.
Sorry if this is stating the blindingly obvious, but IMHO all medicines, (broadly), help your system fix itself. You can improve its chances by getting as near as you can to plenty of sleep & plenty to eat - spoil yourself a bit till you're over it.

2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)
Actually from what I understand a lot of medicines do the exact opposite. If you take antibiotics to help deal with an infection, then your body's immune system will sit back and let the antibiotics do all the work, and in future will produce less antibodies to deal with the problem because it's been programmed to expect antibiotics to do the work for it...
The flu vaccine is an interesting exception. From what I can tell It causes the body to think there's something very seriously wrong, and release a full-on attack against the vaccine which just happens to require the same antibodies to kill as the current mutations of the flu virus. The result is that if you do come into contact with the real flu virus, your body is ready to kill it off as soon as it enters your body, before it can multiply. Interestingly the reason people keep picking up the flu, and the reason the vaccine needs an annual 'booster' is that the virus mutates at about a rate which means your bodies defences are no good against it after about a year, hence the booster is actually 'tweaked' every year
Biology was so boring at school, but reading about stuff like that actually gets my interest now and again...
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

Totally agree Mjb
Its very surprising how the body deals with infections etc.... Its very true about being given a treatment. Just think of you body like a computer.Once it knows how to fight something it will store the process for future ref.
Think of someone who has had cancer and has chemo to treat it there immune system is back to 0 as if you were a child so you have to start building your immune system back up. Not very nice
Following a trend here, honey and lemon & whiskey! If it doesn't work you get pissed and don't care anyway!
