The BIG Zorst

Post by Doggy »

Got back box delivered on Tues. - bigger than I expected! (OE box - white stuff is off the packaging)
Set about removing old one & suceeded in mangling my thumb :( should've had a couple of stitches, but with an eye full of rust flakes and MOT re-test booked for today, couldn't be @rsed.
OK, now what do I do? Car jacked up, old box still on, one hand virtually useless & it's 10:00pm?
Gave up & took her in as it was, (new back box & exhust clamp in boot), put on my best 'think positive' voice & body language and asked them to fit it for me & re-test as arranged.
Worked :P expected to pay re-test fee + labour to fit, passed MOT, cost £34.50 8)
It's maybe a bit too early to be sure, but I'm fairly certain it was recording a couple of mpg more on the way home :?:

Are we having more than one lap then? Never mind, won't take long to get by :cheesy:

Then, with the reassuring thought I've got clutch & brakes designed for the performance, I can improve the aerodynamics by folding in the mirrors and bye-bye Puggy

A 110 estate wouldn't be able to take a 110 saloon. I'd be suprised if it could take a 90

Well done Doggy!

I've not seen a tail pipe do a right-kink like that on a 406 before :? is that an estate thing?

To be fair I've had the rust-flaked eyes and the mashed fingers myself so never ever touch egg sauces anymore :|

If you look at all the permutations on ServiceShox they all look the same, just the estate tail pipe's a bit longer

Just realised that I think the back box is mounted on the piss a bit so you'd need the donkey's plonk bit to get a straight exit :)
