Changing my car

Post by jasper5 »

I have been bullied by the wife to replace our 406 :?

I have part exchanged my Nissan Terrano for a Saab 9-3 1.9TiD.

Gonna pick it up Saturday....watch out for my 406 HDi in the "For Sale" section. I need to swap our private reg onto my Expert van first from the 406.

Thanks.

Mechanically superb, sadly, bodywork needs some attention....more about that when I put it on sale.

NOOOOoooooo!!!!

Go to youtube and search for a clip of 5th gear showing how easily 4x4s roll.... then realise the range rover in the clip had a heavy duty roll cage fitted....
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

I agree, a 4x4 is very easy to roll. driving one needs a different driving style or you can come unstuck.

I had my Terrano for over 5 years it was a good car and enjoyed driving it, but I replaced it with my Expert van.

Now the time has come to replace the 406, I bought that about the same time.

I hope the Saab is as good as the 406 has been.

I'll be sad to see the 4x4 and the 406 leave, but time moves on.

Speaking of 4x4s, I have a major service and mot on a Jeep Grand Cherokee today, it's the 4.7 litre V8....I'm a certificated Jeep mechanic.

My daughter and her husband do 4x4 trialling with their Landrovers, he's a Landrover mechanic (ex Army) but is now a Highways Agency Supervisor.

Good luck with your new motor, jasper. 8)

Like Welly says, please stick around - we all value your advice,(& hate the idea of paying someone for it) :supafrisk:

At this rate it'll be the ex-406oc soon

Be a real shame, (after all doggy's masterplan requires another 3.5 years of pug motoring and that's just with this one).....

Got my mot for the Nissan Terrano, cost me 50 quid for new brake discs (had some pads in my spares box) and 3 quid for a rear exhaust mounting.

I'll post a pic when we get the Saab.

If I can help with anything i'll do my best.
