Off to Germany tonight

Post by mjb »

Well for the next week I'm going to be drunk off my ass in a field in northern Germany listening to some awesome bands, so I won't be around for the next 8 days or so. Just been to pump up my tyres for the extra weight (35psi front, 38psi rear) and put some petrol in too. 74.02 litres of the stuff  with the trip computer telling me I've got another 30 miles to go   I think the D9 fuel gauge sensor/sender is WAY less accurate and predictable than the D8s!

At least better than my last visit to Nurburgring to watch the 24h - froze me nuts off :!: -1 degree at night.
Place was waterlogged too - got overheard by our local host saying, "Dash it chaps! We'll never dig a tunnel in this!"

I'm back, with a slightly pickled liver... OK forget the 'slightly'...

Too much traffic and roadworks on the way there to have fun, and on an eco drive on the way back, so didn't even break indicated 150mph

Check this out though, that eco drive... I got from a petrol station in Bremen, Germany to Stoke, England on ONE tank of petrol! 704 miles! On one tank! In a V6 with 3 people on board and crammed full of luggage!

704 miles on one tank of petrol in a V6!!!!!

Hopefully it'll make it to 707 miles tomorrow so I can put some more in it  Talking of petrol, that was done on Shell V-Power 95 RON bought for something like €1.35/litre, with 74 litres of the stuff, the rest being Total Crap.

The coupe's been wonderful although it's really drilled into my skull now that I MUST get some new rear brake backplates on it, and the front brakes are going to want an overhaul too. I think after its performance this week I should treat it to a new PAS pump and get round to putting new plugs in to see if it sorts out the roughness a bit. I'll also give it a clean as the front bumper's now got a definite red tint due to the dead insects

Oh yeah, the weather was quite nice too... One day of showers but the rest were in the 30s 8)

Are you Mr. 20 secs on there?

For a moment, at 12 secs, I thought there was a topless Women but it's some dude with long hair I think.

Glad you had a nice time, sounds like fun 8)
