Not really a project, or any fun for that matter, but my missus has an Astra SRi, 2003...pretty dull really :(

I'd really like an A1 original Big Bumper Golf GTi on a H/J reg, I always longed for one of those in my 20's sadly most of them are crashed, smashed, or 'Barried' beyond belief now :frown: other choices are an E30 or RS Turbo :)

I want to get a cheapo '6 coupe as a project/weekend car in addition to mine but funds don't allow that at the moment.

My other half's car is a 2007 1.1L Fiat Panda... That I have to service fairly soon.

Money's the biggest problem cos even if we bought a cheapo project car you'd be wanting to bring it up to scratch which costs a lot :| also if you go too old then you're into the rust era which is a nightmare.

The old E30's are a fairly safe bet as there's plenty of parts available and they were well made to begin with.

a 307cc, we needed more of a family car than the 206cc we had, and the 307 fitted the bill. It was either that or a Mondeo, but the Mondeo got sold the same day we sold the 206, so we scrapped the 'proper' family car and went for another convertible.

I used to have a 1994 2.0 Primera, a seriously quick motor car :D Make sure you keep your camshaft oil pipes clean!!

I also used to have a BMW E30, I hated that car with a passion, it was the worst car I have ever owned.

My current collection is a Nissan Terrano, Nissan Micra, and a Peugeot Expert van.

The Terrano and the 406 are both being part exchanged for a 407 2.0 HDi 136 SE (black), 2006.

Yeah, it was, I know the 6 cylinder is much better.

I remember the older 6 cylinder models with the overhanging alloy sump that used to get smashed when people ran too close to a kerb at the front. i've changed quite a few of those.

A couple of years ago I bought a 2000 (W reg) 316 E36 SE (1.9 4 pot) for her indoors and although it was extremely tidy and genuine that was crap too. It only managed 25mpg and we only managed 3 months with it. Sold it and made £50.00 profit :P I did learn one thing though...selling a BMW is piss easy :o

It suffered drive-line shunt, leaking gearbox, worn front sussy bushes (a mega job) which sent it darting about all over the place and the climate control was doing strange things. In an unusual step we moved it on sharpish and I'm soooo glad we did.
