406 logic

Post by Doggy »

Mrs Doggy & I are off for a dog & offspring free weekend 8)

Her ladyship has decided on Lille, for some reason - probably related to shops & markets

No problem, we live 2 miles from a station with direct trains to St Pancras, which is now the Eurostar terminal 8)

So we're going by road / ferry
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Have a nice weekend, Doggy :)

I'm having a family free weekend in 2 weeks, going to Great Yarmouth for the weekend, all by myself :D

:arrowu: Absolute classic swiss :arrowu:

Back this evening after a brilliant trip - 700 odd miles which confirmed how good a mile muncher the 406 is 8)

Did experience some aggressive Gallic autoroute behaviour though - imagine being tailgated by a Twingo with it's left-hand indicator flashing, demanding to get by. Had it not been for the truck to my right and the caravan in front, I would have moved over Immédiatement

Joking apart, this moron was about 6 feet off my back end for at least half a mile.
In fact, le petit Renualt closed in for the kill as the caravan finally pulled over at the bottom of a satisfyingly steep hill.....
I was momentarily tempted to dab the brakes, but settled for pressing resume instead.
As Jean-Luc et Marie-Clare faded into the distance, at least three of the cars behind them undertook 'em too

I don't know why people do that? I mean, tailgating and causing a nuisance/danger with no possibility of getting passed you anyway

And yes the 406 is the king of eating up the miles 8)
