Bloody women!!!!

Post by StevieboyTD »

Wifey sold her Corsa a few days ago and wanted another car asap for work. I hunt around, find a few that meet our needs (focus, 306 estate, even a 1.4 megane coupe so she could have a girlie motor!)

Meanwhile the scrappage scheme dumps a good condition N-reg 406 td exec into our workshop (we depolute the cars before they can be crushed). Rubbing my hands with glee i've got myself...
  • a set of fogs (no stalk control for it though :?: ),
nice set of 15" alloys (we get a silly number of pugs go through with 14" alloys and 15" steelies, these are the first 15" alloys i've seen in ages!)
a spare set of headlights (maybe make a set of HID dip beam lights ...)
the bumper (or rather the headlight washer units in the bumper)
motorised, heated leather seats (ok the leather was worn to hell, but the heater circuits were fine, i could have chopped things about and modded my existing seats)
the dash computer/heater controls. I've got the full car to play with so i can take sensors from where ever i want (time consuming i know, but i'm a sucker for longwinded pointless modifications :))
a set of rear electric windows to upgrade my manual rears.
Turn my LX into an exec for very little outlay :D

Basically i'm on to a winner :cheesy:

I get as far as the fogs and alloys and then the wife rings up, she wants to look at a few cars, can i pick her up. Rush home, oh she's seen something she really likes, we go to see it. She loves it. We don't see ANY other cars, she buys the first thing she sees. No Focus, no 306 estate, no Megane, nothing even remotely useful. She rings the owner, meets up with her, pays a deposit and the seller drops the car off the following day.

But i digress. After viewing her choice of car i rush back to the yard to carry on ripping my goodies out of the doner car. But it's gone. "oh we didn't think you'd be back in today what with going car hunting, the 406 has been weighed in"

It's not nice to see a grown man weep. :(

She was looking for something suitable to take her, the youngest sprog (4) and 2 dogs around during the day. To do takeaway deliveries in the evening and to do the household shopping with.

So what did she get? What did i lose my motorised heated seats, electric back windows, clever center console, spare lights, spare bumper, etc, etc, for?

I suppose she figures your car can do all the stinky stuff :( With my meagre understanding of all things female (I'm a bloke so it's not going to get any better than that) I'd say the most important consideration that made her decided on this car was... the colour.

Ah well, best buy her a nice hat for when the roof jams.
