Outlook Express help

Post by Welly »

If you were to send me an e-mail, and I replied to that same e-mail then my reply is lost at this end unless you reply back to me again whereupon the 'chain' of messages begins for viewing.

Thing is, unless I've got this wrong, I've 'lost' a few of my messages recently where I've stated something important in reply to an e-mail but because the recipient did not reply back to me then I can only see their bit with a arrow > thing showing that I did reply to the message.

Have I got this wrong? :?

Any reply you make should be stored in Sent Items unless you've emptied it Welly?

That's sounding as if the information store has corruption Welly...
Right click on the local folder store & go to properties; you should have the option to compact the folders.

Oops! I did a 'compact' thing using a Microsoft internet how-too and lost a whole months e-mails and 35 'unread's' what I was keeping :(

I've managed to retrieve most of it from the server-me-bob but have definately lost some stuff

Guess I won't be doing that again

Using my l33t interweb skilz I've just found out that one's 'Sent' box has a 2Gig limit so I've created a new folder called 'sent backup' and now my Sent messages are being saved again 8)

Not bad for a bone-head eh?

@ Steve - a Hotmail address would look a bit naff for the business emails?
