Looked like Mercedes badges or something. Easy enough to replace, unlike that awful arch bling.

Not something I've ever seen, I presume they're from the Halfords "Tacky Bling" range. I dread to think how they're attached.

Anyway, anyone need a tow bar? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/122398809829?ul_noapp=true

:arrowu: and the award for best half-arsed car advert goes to

Even with its "knocking brakes" and wonky UJ they must be something about the poor old thing that is worth bigging-up for the advert.

Verdict: break it for parts, collect more moneh, then send over the bridge.

Oh god here's another one clinging onto life by a thread: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/peugeot-406-e ... 2398809829

Lol's at the 'on a flatbed' picture  redeeming feature being a 7-seater perhaps.

Such a shame seeing D9's falling over like this, there's never really anything major wrong with them other than being unloved and uncared for by numpty owners on a shoestring.

The rear axle has collapsed so will need rebuilding. I started taking the axle off but then I realised I had bugger all change of getting any parts for it whatsoever so I gave up.

the rear axle collapsed so I started poking about underneath and quickly got way out of my depth after breaking one of the brake hoses.....

Just looked at the 'underside' photos - there's a lot of rust! the ARB? almost looks sheared/split.

Maybe it spent its life in a field or summat?

A sad end to a Partner 4-Dangle that's for sure.

Oh look, I've not posted anything here for 18 months  Sick and tired of looking at overpriced junk being the reason.

However, for want of anywhere else to put it...

This appeared in my inbox, due to ebay search I have set up looking for low mileage 406's. Sadly it's yet another "can't be bothered to type 3 zeros" but 2 things caught my eye: Firstly, a 406 saloon actually looks nice in gold (I suspect I'll be in a minority here and I'm willing to accept that I may have brain damage due to driving a gold handbagmobile for 3 years) and secondly, this:
it failed the mot on the brake pedal creeping to the floor under pressure. A new master cylinder was fitted, but hasn't solved the problem.
Err, aren't they meant to do that?
