Not driving for a while...

Post by mjb »

Went out last night to play some badminton. It's healthy and will be good for me, right? Up until I jumped and landed on my ankle not my foot....

(Hope you can see this horribly over-exposed image of impressive swelling)

Living alone sucks when stuff like this happens :( Bloody Mass Effect 2 release day too, and I can't get out to buy it  Oh, and I'm running out of food :(

Oooh, nice! I've got a similar pic from last year, the quack said to take it easy, put my foot up in the air and apply an ice pack. Hur hur hur, the next day we had a good few inches of snow so I suppose I got the ice pack bit right :(

As the good lady said, foot up, plenty of rest, apply some coldness. You can order groceries online, just make sure it's not the sort of stuff they're glad to get rid of because it's what the regular customers have spent a few days squeezing on the shelf...

Ouch! I played badminton for 15 years, 4 days a week but haven't had anything as bad happen to me yet (except tearing a tendon in my ring finger but that's a different story).

Buy Mass Effect 2 from Tesco Online or ASDA along with your groceries, and have them delivered to you - if it's in your local store it should be delivered simultaneously

Ooohhh, that looks nasty.

I had a natty titanium elbow fitted a few weeks ago. I was hoping to be allowed to drive again yesterday, but the doc says "NO!". Reckons it'll be about 5 weeks before I'm fit and safe to do so. It's a bugger :(

Tesco only list a small handful of games in the groceries section of the site, so I ordered from Asda

Nah, but I felt some sharp pain this afternoon so decided to go to A&E as early as I can tomorrow morning. If I get there before 8am I may be out in time for the 3-5pm asda delivery

After getting fed up of all the nagging, I went to the hospital. Nothing broken, but they did this anyway :(

At least I got a pair of crutches off them, although one's broken - missing a pin clip to hold the hand grip on... so I could end up falling flat on my face in the near future

Not dancing for a while either... :( I'm not really sure why they've plastered it if it's *just* a strain (not belittling your injury, I know just how painful it is and how long it'll take to fix) but surely mobility would help it sort itself out. Also, if it swells more you could end up in A&E again to have it cut off before your foot falls off.

I've just discovered the worst thing about enforced non-driving. My local village shop has run out of Marboro reds, and I can't drive to the next village to visit their shop. Had to buy B & H instead. Weekend ruined :(
