I took the head off my engine at 168k and it still had the original hone marks showing on the cylinder !!

My C5 hdi is at 206k and still runs perfectly, if you maintain an HDI properly and know your way around the electrics, they should be good for 300k+

If there's no service history I'd change the timing belt & tensioners, also check condition of bottom pulley :)

Ran my last one to 185,000 - it's still going strong. Plan on running this one to 200k.
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)
