Re: Wanted- dirt cheap strut brace
How cheap would you call dirt cheap? I only paid £30 for mine & that included the longer fixing bolts & delivery.

Ade over on the coupe forum charges £20 plus £10 postage on ebay, but contact him through the coupe club and he knocks a fiver off.
I went up to chesterfield to pick some other bits up and whilst there saw one and had it for £15 including the longer bolts.

Re: Wanted- dirt cheap strut brace
Mine is off a coupe, and what I and a few others have had to do is use a persuasion tool (big hammer) to bend the brace a fraction lower to clear the bonnet.
No big deal
Otherwise you are looking at saloon specific strut braces and talking bigger money.

Re: Wanted- dirt cheap strut brace
I collected it whilst out on a job - I drive for a living - working on a saturday, and fetched the rear spoiler from Tadcaster, took the family out to Brodsworth hall for a few hours, went to Chesterfield and picked up a wiring ecu for the leather seats, and saw the strut braces, and paid £15 for one including the longer bolts. Whilst out a dropped out something I'd sold just below CHesterfield so worked out really well for me.
Next day, I undid the 6 torx bolts holding the sttruts in place, and tried to fit - on mine it has a bracket that doesn't appear to have any function that gets in the way, so bent it through 90degrees out the way. Put strut brace into position and bolted down with longer torx bolts supplied with brace.
I already was aware of the problem with clearance of the brace, as the guy who I bought the spoiler off (Mountain on this forum) had one on his car but had already sold it to someone else showed me on his car.
I gently lowered the bonnet, and indeed it would exert pressure on the rear of the bonnet towards the drivers side.
Got my friend Mr H.Ammer to persuade the brace to sit a little lower on that side (at a guess around 1cm, although I think I did go a little extra and 5mm would of done)
Obviously only bend the brace whilst on the car otherwise the mounting points won't line up.
Adrian Bingham is the seller, and he sells them on ebay - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PEUGEOT-406-COUPE ... 4cef1deb97
However, as I think i've already mentioned, if you are, or sign up to be a member of the 406 coupe club forum http://www.peugeot406coupe.com/phpBB3/, and contact him - his member name is Ade1122 (same as his ebay user name) he will sell you one for £15 plus £10 postage saving you a fiver.
Either that, or try and find one in a breakers yard

Really makes a huge difference, in my opinion; I still find it to have been well worth the money.
