I am looking to sell my 406 as I need something a little cheaper to run. Car is Wicked Red with A/C - has covered 187k miles and still pulls strong and starts first time. It is a little tatty (small split in the front bumper and a couple of scuffs) but nothing major.
It is just about to have a new Aux belt fitted as the old has just about given up the ghost.
It has some Mont Blanc roof racks (currently the bars are in the boot as I don't use them very often but mounts are still in place. Recently had new front discs and pads - needs rears doing, have all these parts ready - may be able to have this done but happy to supply the bits.
Couple of pics:
I think average market value is around £700-800 i'm open to sensible offers as it isn't the cleanest example but it is a proper workhorse Located in Cambridge.
Just to say: if that isn't dirt on the front numberplate, then I'd swap that out if I were you, before the police start hassling you. It will also restore some of the resale value of the car, surprisingly enough.
You may also wish to take off the headlamp protectors and sell them separately; the car shouldn't lose any value with them missing as they're an after-market (albeit official Peugeot-made) accessory.
Good luck with the sale, hopefully the old girl will continue providing many miles of comfortable motoring to her new owner.

£700-£800 is about right
i see them for that much in trader all the time
ebay is a different matter
£700-£800 from a trader yes, just cos a car is seen advertised for a price, dont mean it sells
for that price. Ebay is IMO real world pricing as you see what actually sells for what price.

Yeah it needs a valet, it's a little grubby from carrying engine parts around ;)
I checked auto trader for similarly miled cars - both HDi and XUD engined 406's and they are around this sort of price on Auto Trader. I am willing to accept lower as I know it isn't perfect but we all need a starting point, right?
