Hdi 110 estate for sale.

Post by Markyrow »

I have to sell a car due to daughter needing a smaller car to learn to drive in and mine is the one to make room. The light blue 2.0l Hdi estate with 166k on the clock. In the last 12 months I have put on a new timing belt, water pump, pulley, bottom engine mount, tie rods on front anti-roll bar, bottom ball joints, exhaust with cat and flexi at the front and box at the back. Front discs and pads. Regularly serviced with oil and filter every 10k max. Runs very well. MOT to July 2012, tax to end of Jan 12. Generally tidy for year (2000) on a "w".

Things to do are wiper relay as they do the usual park anywhere trick, and the speedo sensor as it sometimes stops, then kicks in again. I will be very sorry to see her go as she's been great.

Car is in Cov if anyone wants to view.

£900 ono what's she worth? Mark.

It's funny how people consider the 406 to be 'big' as it's not that big really compared to a new enormous Focus/Fiesta or even worse....one of the new Phat Mini's (what were they thinking?)

Granted though an Estate might be a bit OTT to learn in.

I thought when wipers parked where they liked it was more to do with the internal microswitch doo-dads within the wiper motor? the 'park' position sensor.

Good luck with the sale anyway, shame after all that work you've done to it :|

There used to be brushes (still might be) inside the wiper box that picks up a live until the wipers reach the park position where it picks up an earth to stall the motor. If it lacks an earth it doesn't quite stop, goes back to the live strip and off they go again.

Thanks for the reminder! It'S an LX with alloys, aircon, and a nice cover for the boot space!
I think the wiper is the relay as per the article on this site, seems to fit the profile, and as it's such a job to get it out i have just let it drag on.

If i can work out how to put pictures on here i will do it! not exactly great on these things.
I really will be sad to see this go, but the boss says it must!

Could someone tell me how to load a picture from a phone camera please? I have clicked on the Img button here and it just puts some funny text here. I will put the pictures into the pictures bit on the computer ready to tranfer if someone can advise. Sorry but i grew up before computers were everyday things!
