Went to look at a lower mileage replacement for my bro's car at the weekend, which more or less has to be a 1.9 TD estate as he runs it on part veg oil. The one we looked at wasn't bad, but it would of course leave him having to get rid of the current one.....
.... which is an S reg 1.9 LS TD estate in fairly tidy condition, with 10 month's ticket, 167k and runs nicely on veg or diesel. He's a plumber and uses it for work and transporting his dog, so it's grubby, but not seriously tatty inside.
I know it's difficult without pics and a test drive, but what do any of you think it might be worth?

I paid £600 for my 96 P LX 1.9td saloon with 76,000 on the clock and partial service history and apart from a hole on the front bumper it's in very tidy condition.
You see them on autotrader stupidly cheap and stupidly expensive, bought mine off the bay, it was on for £650 buy it now and didn't sell but as I'd asked the guy about the cars history he emailed me after the auction offering it to me for £600.
For me it would need to be very tidy to pay £1000, more like £700 tops but it seems to vary greatly depending where you live.

Interesting - this one's no oil painting, but it is a solid, reliable workhorse.
I was trying to work out whether it would sell quickly for say £450, or a bit more with the road tax, as it's got about 9 month's worth......
