anyone got a V6 (1998) coilpack set for the front bank? i think steam cleaning the engine bay has killed the front coilpacks so could do with another set. as usual i am absolutely desperate and now carless so if local i could probably get it tomorrow evening?! anyone?

No difference - there were two V6 engines fitted to 406s, model numbers ES9J4 (your one, fitted from 1996 through 2000/2001) and the ES9J4S (fitted from 2001 through to production's end in 2004. The ES9J4 had coil packs (front and rear), the ES9J4S had individual pencil coils.
I don't know if you know about Adrian Bingham (ade1122 on both eBay and on the Coupe Club forums) - he is a Coupe breaker and will more than likely have the part you need. I am not sure exactly where he is, but I don't believe he's a huge distance from Manchester.

sorted now. thanks. didn't need it in the end
we fixed the PAS leak and steamed some off the inner wing. a bit of water must have got under the coilpack at the front causing it not to work. the moisture has dried out and it runs fine.
