Wanted: Engine undertray

I'm still not over it........

I can still remember the day I popped the bonnet only to be met with the sight of the road underneath my beautiful engine bay gone was the cocooned environment my engine had enjoyed all those years. My engine was naked, exposed and vulnerable many days and nights were spent in search of the tray, retracing our steps, looking in ditches, under garden sheds....but nothing

Our relationship was never the same from that point, I had let the car down and we both knew it. Sure we both tried to behave normally and pretend it never happened but there was something missing, something important, and it happened on my watch. Eventually it drove a wedge between us and the car found love elsewhere....a french man....he hadn't noticed the lack of undertrayage and was smitten....I could never have given the car the love and excitement of the new relationship with this french man and I had to let her go..... I believe the car was able to put the loss of its undertray behind it (no pun intended) and move on with its life
