Wanted: front lights D9
Hi. Looking for D9 fronts, in good condition. Mine are spidewebby and have a couple heat marks for some reason.
Must be willing to ship to Norway. I'll pay with paypal.
Also looking for but not really in a rush here:
- New steering wheel (Leather, coupe one is fine). D9 pre-multiplex (2000)
- The plastic parts with the chrome strips on the doors. If anyone knows of replacement chrome strips that would be awesome. Left rear door (uk rear passenger side) most needed:)
- Leather door cards.
- Doorlock key hole (uk:passenger side) as mine was destroyed in an attempted breakin. Really no need for it to work, but annoying to have a jagged hole there:)
Pm me or answer here:) Thanks for looking!

Erm, what side of the road do you drive on in Norway?
The door strips are about 50€ a piece new, I'm a bit doubtful of getting one off a car without damaging it, but maybe with a bit of heat. By the way, if you didn't realise saloon & estate are the same

Just so long as you realise headlights from the UK aint gonna do you no good
I don't know how much a scumbag would have to destroy the lock before it would do anything but it must be easier to just bust a window

Why would headlights from the uk be bad? I would expect them to be the same?

Re: Wanted: front lights D9
Because UK cars drive on the left (steering wheel on the right) so the UK headlamps dip to the left, while the headlamps of 406s with the steering wheel on the left, as nature intended, dip to the right.

But .. there are no automatic headlamp adjustment on my car. The headlamps are the same on both sides, why would they be different? Does the canbus models have headlight that adjusts when turning? Am I being dense here?:)steve_earwig wrote:Because UK cars drive on the left (steering wheel on the right) so the UK headlamps dip to the left, while the headlamps of 406s with the steering wheel on the left, as nature intended, dip to the right.

Re: Wanted: front lights D9
Possibly something lost in translation
The headlights have two settings, right? Well, three with the side/parking/marker lights, whatever you call them, but you have the main/long lights for driving on dark roads when you want to see far ahead. There is a blue light on the instrument panel to show you these are on. When a car comes towards you travelling in the other direction you pull the stalk so your lights are short/dipped, in order not to blind them. Most vehicles still leave some light shining towards the pavement, the location of which depends on what side of the road you drive on. 406s are like this, which is why you need left-hand drive lights.
This might help because there are pictures
