406 HDI SE 110 BHP EX AMBULANCE WITH REMAP

Post by galantboy »

Hi the time has come for me to part with my much loved 406 hdi. been a very good car to me with a new clutch and duel mass fly wheel fitted 18 months ago.

bit rough looking on the body work mostly where some kind soul drove into the side of it outside my house 1 day, how the hell i will never know i live up a private road!!
have already sold the ash tray and small door trim inserts but the rest of the car is complete.

SE model with half leather electric seats (although rear sear base is damaged) auto lights, wipers electric windows all round, cruise control satnav (display not good though)

Goes very very well and pulls clean through the rev rage with no smoke given a little help by the remap done from new as it was a special order for the ambulance service,
engine and box could go on for another 100k easily it has been very very well maintained despite the way it looks!

NO TAX OR MOT, for an MOT would need a windscreen, atleast 2 tires, and a headlight as the mounting on the drivers side 1 is broken.

£275 or offers please call me on 07787707191

alternatively if anyone has a nice set of alloys which have good tires on them and a headlight for sale i might think about buying them to put this back on the road as i am really missing using it.

If the car has been reliable, and you obviously like it - then keep it. The clutch and flywheel is good for a few years, would be a shame to let someone else get the benefit.. :frown:

My only concern would be the damage, as it is next to the fuel filler which may cause problems come MOT/VIC time..??

That's kinda what I'm thinking to be honest. And nope the damage doesn't cause problems with fuel filler apart from the doors a little tight to close. No need for vic checks or anything as I never reported it.

Altho I need a set of tires and screen to get it back on the road, oh and drivers side headlight

afraid not.
i traced it back to lancashire ambulance service from the MOTs that came with it and a phone call to their old in house vehicle service department who told me that all their cars come remapped from new for carrying the weight and better performance. which is probably why this one seems to top out around 135 mph it would go a little more but i dont wanna push it as i have to fix it if i blow it up! but still returns 48 around town driving with a little enthusiasm and around 58 if being very boring
