1997 406GLX Estate 1.9 TD For Sale £50

Post by Bilgerat »

MOT till May 2016. This car has been our faithful family transport for over fourteen years, got through the MOT then it developed a censor fault on the injection system, still runs but not happy! Checked by a friend (and now I've lost the fault code) but crankshaft censor seems to be at fault. Probably an easy fix for someone with the skills but not for me. I'd rather it went to a better home than the scrap yard.
193,000miles, new battery and two recent tyres, tow bar, bodywork rust free but showing its age.
Large pile of reciepts and MOTs from new.
Car is on SORN in Staines near Heathrow/M25

Shame you're so far from me, any pics?
My first 406 was a GLX and was reasonably well kitted out as I recall

You can get this fault with a clogged fuel filter or blocked in-tank strainer - if it's the latter the priming bulb goes soft......

Carry on.
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Thanks for the suggestion Doggy, I will check just in case but does appear to be a failed sensor.

Good level of kit as you say gumby and it still works. I realise I don't have a decent picture of just the car, normally in the back ground behind kids, camping gear and other rubbish. This was the best I could find.
