Sat Nav & clock remote control wanted.

Post by bandittwelve »

Hi everyone, I've just bought a 2001 406 GTX HDI estate and the clock needs re-retting, the remote control doesn't seem to do anything even with new batteries fitted.
Does anybody know of anyone selling one?
Reasonable price paid.
Cheers Guys.

You don't need a r/c to set the clock - hold down the left hand button until the display changes, page through the options with the l/h button, adjust required parameters with the right, leave to 'time out' when finished, sorted! 8)

Welcome BTW :P
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Thanks for the welcome, the display on my 406 doesn't have the two buttons that you mention, just the little infra red receiver for the remote.
The handbook shows two types of display console but mine is the one that can't be set manually.
I'm not bothered about the sat nav but I'd like to set the the time and date, the display doesn't respond to the remote.

Hiya bandit, welcome :D

There's a couple of people looking for remotes at the moment, I'd recommend finding another owner close to you and having a go with their remote before you splash out on one though, where are you based?

Hiya Dai, I'm in Penarth.
Is this a common fault on 406's?

Never heared of one not working to be honest, the really common fault is to lose the remore (or buy a car that's already lost it's remote :frown: )

You're more than welcome to try mine fella :D (I'm off away for the weekend though, so we'll sort something next week  )
