throttle body with all sensors

Post by deburgh »

I have a complete throttle housing with all its sensors ie stepmotor, I bought this for my 1.8 petrol operated 406 w reg. Turned out that this wasn't the problem it was the coolant sensor so these parts have not been used. I paid £30 for the complete housing which is very cheap, if anyone needs the same, I am just looking for a return on my outlay of £30. Obviously I will have to add on postage and I am estimating £10.00, if it works out cheaper I will send back a cheque for the difference. Ian

Ian,

Can I ask what was the original problem that caused you to buy the new throttle body?

I have a problem and seeing this has got me wondering.

Cheers

Hi Gav,

When we bought the car, it kept stalling when the engine was warm. Also when the engine was turned off and re-started after a few minutes, it took several attempts to start. The rev counter kept reving up and down between 500 and 1,000 revs. I replaced the throttle body but had the same problem. I then put the old body back and bought a coolant temperature sensor and that has now cured the problem. The common problem is the step motor but in our case it was the coolant temperature sensor. If you buy a step motor it could cost you over £100 - new of course. Hope this helps = if you do want the throttle body let me know. If you want to ring me I'm on 07930 386456.

Regards

Ian,

Sorry mate, I was trying to locate a fault with my car and I was wondering whether you had replaced yours because of the same fault.

Thanks all the same!
