Are these the same cables that you say in viewtopic.php?f=1&t=11056 won't engage reverse?

they are not the same cables, i got them from just peogeot parts ltd and the sent the wrong ones, i dont have the lift and reverse mech and the cables are a little too short....

New cables then... Seems a good price :)

as far as i know Peugeot parts ltd sell parts from scrap or accident damaged cars.

Ah, there's one of those good old RPOs for the cables on a 2.2 in 2001, although only the passage cable changed. I'm not sure which you have there (any part numbers visible?) so I can't say what other 406s they'll fit.

Ive just had a look and the only visable number is PA66-GF 35.

Whoah, hold on there partdner, it's not right one for your car but presumably it's for the other 2.2 'box, so hold on to it - you may end up needing it :(
