Re: wanted exterior door handles
you are correct you cant open the doors from the boot, unless you are small enough to slip through the arm rest slot.i suppose you could modifiy the catch on the back of the seat.Gary406 wrote:but does the boot open the doors ? you have to be inside the car to put the back seats down ??

Re: wanted exterior door handles
I wonder how difficult it would be to retrofit the D9 seat release system?

Not at all.
D9 saloons appear to have a different release system for the back seats. The D8s have the push button on the top of the back rests. But on the D9, the release is operated via red handles on the roof of the boot. At least, the ones I've been crawling in and out of at the scrapyard do.
This would afford on entry into the cabin via the boot in an emergency.

But you have a.... never mind. It's probably do-able but would involve some cutting & welding.

You're confusing me, dang it!
The thread is about a D8 Saloon, as far as I can tell anyway.
So I'm talking Saloon.
I'm not sure if the same release system on the D9 saloon is on the D9 Coupe.
Mine certainly hasn't, but they continuely changed subtles things like that.
