Re: Im breaking a car
Jamjar the pipe is out.
Ive tried my best to keep the bolts and fiddly bits in a tray, but i dont see all the jubilee clips, and im not sure if every nut and bolt is there. Although i can say the pipe come off today just held in by one more jubilee clip. Then i got another pipe off that went into the turbo. A bit ackward but its done:

Now i can see the turbo, why is it so out of the way, and how hard is it to take it out completley? Also i took this out what is it:

anyhow jamjar. PM me about this stuff.

I can't work out whether that's a nifty way of warming something up quickly or cooling down the eggsauce gas as it gets stuffed back in the engine (to reduce N0X)

Mine has one of those and despite no sign of the mythical electric heaters it starts clearing frost of the screen almost straight away

Re: Im breaking a car
Maybe replaced the electrical heater then, makes sense if you think about it as it will take the load away from the altnernator.
The electrical heater was supposed to be a series of resisters in/on/near the matrix - mine appeared to have it as it was able to produce heat fairly swiftly from, what felt like, cold/cool heater matrix hoses

Re: Im breaking a car
Farmer Pug.
Have you got the front part of the exhaust with flexi and the cat as shown in the pic?
How much and the cost to ship it to West Yorkshire? (PM me if you want.)

"Understeer" is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"Oversteer" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"Horsepower" is how fast you hit the fence.
"Torque" is how far you take the fence with you.

Re: Im breaking a car
I learnt this the hard way, dealer prices are very hard to guess. So I just phone them anyway to get a starting price. This was after getting dirty and wet to get a break light switch for an Astra which at the time was £4 brand new from the dealer. The one I got from the scrappy didn't fit anyway.steve_earwig wrote:I'm sure those caps are the same D8&9 and peanuts from the stealer's.

The caps fit between d9 pre multiplex and d9 multiplex very well. Sorry i cant give them away, but i need some for myself.
Servicebox is good for checking prices, although they are a bit of a joke what some things are priced at.

if thats how hard it is to take a turbo out, ie not very whats the fuss all about. Why is there stories of £1000 to fix them, or is that just on Beemers which if the engine sucks swirl flaps id expect that to be cheap
