I am still so very sorely tempted by that gearbox, just to take it apart and see how it works...

...unfortunately someone in Spain has emptied my bank account

Are they something weird or you don't know how a gearbox works?

Someone in Spain? You mean someone guessed your card number? I had that a couple of months back, fortunately the bank spotted it and sorted it out.

A website I used got compromised and card details got stolen, evidently including mine. Got my bank account emptied by a number of transactions in Spain :( Barclays phoned me up within about 20 minutes and said "do you recognise these transactions?" to which I said "no". So they said they haven't been processed yet so they "may" be able to stop them... Get back from my grandad's funeral and find out yep, Barclays have given all my money away

Going to be fun trying to get my money back, but with my new debit card came a "how to use your debit card" leaflet which says something along the lines of "as long as you've not been a dumbass, we'll refund any fraudulent transactions". When I went to the branch, they actually needed me to show it to them! Got a form through the post yesterday basically saying fill your dodgy transactions in here, say you took reasonable precautions, and return it to us less than 10 days after reporting it... which was 12 days ago

Hate banks

I don't know how the up/down and turning motion of the gear linkage translates into different cogs contacting each other, and I don't know how synchromeshes work. I know the theory, but I need to see it to understand how it all goes together. Like the clutch, I didn't quite understand exactly how everything worked together until I'd ripped it all apart...

Plus I like taking things apart

... on that basis, when do you want to collect the gearbox or should I arrange a courier for you?

The rest of the motor is there too, so too the head which can be reconditioned easily enough and sold for a profit ...

Hi Chaz
If i am not mistaken the picture on ebay looks as if the car has a spoiler on it ? if so and it is the clamp/stick on type and still available how much do you want for it.
Thanks Daz

Mate, its gone, the car etc. What was left was what was in the ebay ads, gearbox, head, engine block, alternator, aircon pump and a few other bits.

Doorcards if someone wants them (just collect, no cost) - also carpets and items that are clean, just collect, no cost.

Thanks

Within the next 2 weeks will be handy.

They are black leather - wood trim with like a grey colour of sorts (from memory). Ill see if I can find a pic.

If you are on the Wirral then its only a 20-30 min drive to my place. WA8 9NQ.
