original gearknob

Post by FarmerPug »

The leaher on the round top end of my gearstick looks a bit worn down, and i would like to get a new one or a one in good condition, ebay seems to have a lot of weird and not so wonderful looking stuff on ebay which look a million miles from the standard part. Anyone got a normal gearknob for the 2002 hdi. 5 speeds with the reverse gear being up and to the left.

2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)

It's really outside my area of expertise - Dai could probably talk you through a risk assessment, safe system of work, appopriate PPE, casevac plan and so on....

i read a guide on here a while back saying it needs a good bit of force, and then i recall reading about blood. But really is it that bad.
