It's a 2002 HDi 90 but I'm not sure if it's Bosch or Siemens, saloon or estate. Anyway it matters not, just the age and that it's an HDi.

Seems like any 406 2.0 HDi built after 3 May 2000 will do.

Give the local Peugeot dealer a phone and see if they quote you the ServiceBox price.

Also, try jpug (on these forums) - as an employee in the parts dept. at a main dealer, he might be able to give you a price on a new one.

Failing that, breakers yard, yeah :D

I've quoted the Service Box price above. Off to the breaker's, you'd be mad not to.

My bro's had a leak when he got it - it was a broken locking ring around the strainer / level unit, under the back seat.

Defo worth lifting the seat, removing the big access grommet, (driver's side) & 'ave a butchers

you know where the 2 pipes come out of the bottom of the tank.that part there is a bit, well, wobbly. But wont know til tomorrow.
mechanic has a ramp so it'll be easier.yes its a plastic tank.Im sure theres a slight leak at that part & maybe also a leak at the seam!I'll find out soon enough. Its making a right mess of my drive when wet.Oh another thing. It only seems to leak out when the engines running

The pipes come out of the top of the tank.

Two possibilities:
1). Your car has a Bosch system with in-tank lift pump & you have a leak, probably form the delivery side of the pump quick release coupling or thereabouts.
2). The leak is from the fuel return line, again around the q/r couplings on top of the tank, or that immediate area.

Some quote a lot more. Randles Suzuki near where I work (who have signs up proudly stating they do PSA parts) seem to put about 60% on the servicebox price. Even for a couple of nuts it's cheaper for me to go across town to Randles Peugeot and get 'em  Same bloody group too!
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang
