Rapier Or S Black Doorcards

Since she may be getting sold within the next few months, I'd rather not have to go through the rigmarole of explaining why the little lights on the doorcards don't work, so my simplest solution is to fit doorcards that don't have them.

I'm looking for a set of Rapier or S doorcards as they are black & will still match my current interior. If anybody has one of these cars that would be interested in taking my leather ones as part of a swap deal, then I'd be happy with that too. I have plenty of the clips to be able to replace any that get broken during the removal process.

Wire up the puddle lights to a little battery, with the circuit being opened/closed with the door switch. Sure, it'd only light up that one door while that door is open, but it would still look like it was factory-fit.

That's what I was going to do on my old car when I bought exec leather door cards. Should be just about the simplest circuit imaginable - cell, switch, bulb.

The door car may have to come off to replace the battery, is the only thing, but if you use LED bulbs instead of filaments, then the battery will last a long time (especially given how much time the doors actually spend in the open position).

Fairly simple yes, but there's still wiring it up to the door switch which is still harder than swapping for a set of Rapier cards. Somebody with a Rapier may even have all the wiring in place for the puddle lights to work which makes it a win-win situation for both parties if the swap comes up.

Just an idea here Waue,
instead of replacing the door cards couidnt you cover the lights with some of that Reflective tape?
ive seen some cars with this on,
they have it on so when the Door is open its more Visable if you know which sort of tape im refering too ?
sort of high Vis stuff

Did cross my mind to do something different with them, but figured it'd look more standard with no lights at all.

I'd have swopped my rapier ones with you but i fitted oe blinds to the rear side windows last week and it leaves 3 little holes in the top of the back door cards

Coupe door cards are unique to the Coupe - the doors on the Coupe are significantly larger than those on the saloon/estate, and are shaped differently.

You would only be able to use them to replace a damaged Coupe door card, or to upgrade a cloth-trimmed ("S" spec) Coupe to give it a leather interior (found in the "SE" spec).

They'll fit straight on to any D9 saloon or estate with electric rear windows, but I'm afraid I couldn't be sure if you would be in the same boat as me with the lights in the doors. All 4 cards are clean & tidy & if you take a gander here:
