Re: HimBigChief's 406 Breaking - Definately this time!

Post by HimBigChief »

I still have the doorcards available. I think courier would be best and it should cost no more than £10 to courier.

I haven't found the power button yet and I think the temp sensor is in the missus car so I shall check imminently...

I'll check the wiper stalk for the button, but IIRC mine didn't have the MPG or anything on it as it was the 2.1 and that didn't have MPG due to the Lucas pump I think. I can't remember whether it was possible to get the MPG by splicing into a specific wire (1368 possibly?) but there are some people on here who have retro fitted the MPG to various models.

THe wiper stalk is still available, say £10 posted?

Yes the pads are still here fella, I still haven't had chance to jack it up and check yet, but I should hopefully get round to getting it on axle stands/breeze blocks tomorrow.

Made a start stripping the interior today so there's now no return, I've made a start so everything must go. Most bits are still available, so just ask for anything and I will have a look.

If the wiper stalk has the trip computer button, how's £10 for that?

I definitely want the radiator and bottom hose, what's courier shipping for that likely to be? £10 ish?

You've got my mobile number HimBigChief -- I'm a bit busy tomorrow but I'll ring you back if I don't answer your call.

Cheers.

I will whack everything in one box for you so there would only be one courier charge, and that should still be somewhere around a tenner.

Pretty sure the wiper stalk doesn't have the trip computer button on the end. If anyone has this button on theres, can you tell me whether there's any print on it or anything?

I've been dumped with the little one today, so I'll have to see how far I get with stuff.

The ones that have the trip computer button have two small white arrows at the end, pointing towards the steering wheel.

The end should be a button that can be depressed to switch between the trip computer functions :)

Pretty sure mine doesn't have that stalk, think it's just a standard saloon one. Fairly certain that the display only ever showed the radio and outside temp so not sure whether it's still the one you're after or not.

I've attached a picture. If yours doesn't have the two little white arrows then it's not the one I'm after -- thanks for looking though.

Did you try to ring me today? Sorry I missed your call if that was you, I've tried to call back a couple of times but it's gone straight to answerphone. I'll try again in a while.

Cheers!

Ah no problem.

Could I just confirm if you're happy to supply me with the connector for the back of the MFD as well? If it could be cut off the loom with a couple of inches of cable spare, that'd be good.

Yeah, I can do that. I've already got the display out and it'll only take 2 secs to cut the wires.
