406 wanted in January. Cash waiting.

Post by turbolag »

Early in January i'm after a new 406 to add to the 406 fleet. I'll have up to a grand to spend. I don't expect a museum piece for that money, but a good, clean, tidy, reliable, usable motor with decent MOT is a must. Mileage not a problem, provided it isn't totally intergalactic and the condition is ok.

Any interesting 406 would do. A D8 turbo or V6 would be nice, but would consider any decent, tidy 406, the higher spec, the better.

Prefer within 50 miles of Northampton area, but would travel beyond for a real peach.

So, if you're about to put your motor up for sale then drop me a line.

I'm a genuine buyer - cash, portraits of the queen, folding wonga, moolah, shmoolies, samolians. Greenbacks on the barrel.

Rich.

PS - i'm about to go away on a course, so don't worry if it takes me a while to respond to any PM's. Rest assured, i will respond to every one as soon as i'm able.

A 406 V6 coop for a bag o' sand? Whats wrong with it?

I had advertised on the PSOOC forum too, having had several tempting offers of 205 GiTs, but the Mi had me soiling my pants with glee.

Thanks to James for contacting me with an offer, but it was just that smidge too late.

50 minutes to see what you could get your hands on seems a bit on the short side to me :)

Indeed, but in my defence this particular cars is one i've seen at several shows/psooc events and one id been slobbering over. It's owned by a guy that part owns a famed pug tuning company. It's the later 2 litre (heavier, but shorter stroke and revvier) with the rare leather/alcatara seats and the phase II dash. Every toy/gadget/accesory works. Apart from a K & N and a Supertrapp stainless pipe its totally stock. It's reckoned by many in the Mi register to be the 3rd best remaining Mi16 (of less than 900 left), after Matt Selbys super-concours Mi T16 and some other chumps grey one.

I've been for a test thras...er, drive, and it's a peach. The vendor is fitting new strut top mounts, a new ARB link and a fresh ticket and is throwing in a bootload of spares, such as head, bits of trim yadda yadda yadda. And I get change from me bag o' sand!

Jan the 4th won't roll round quick enough.
