My indigo blue 406 just failed its MOT and I'm not paying the bill.
It failed on numerous ancillary points including:
Corrosion on brake lines
Corrosion under the sills where seatbelts are anchored
There's a small leak in the fuel system (at the fuel filter)
Small leak in the power steering system (believed to be the reservoir)
Headlight aims were a bit off
The only 'structural' points were that the brake discs need to be replaced as they're warped and judder under braking (although still stop the car fine) and the offside rear suspension arm needs to be replaced.
Otherwise this is a good car for spares: it still drives well and the engine is still sweet and very economical, it has had in the last 10-20,000 miles a new clutch, new front springs and a new battery. The Peugeot alloy wheels are in very good condition. It has been very well looked after and serviced regularly at a Bosch certified Peugeot specialist. The interior is in excellent shape, the outside is not as good sporting numerous small chips and scratches you'd expect and a few very small (but still numerous) dents from previous owners. Taxed until the new year, approx 118k on the clock.
I'm not a mechanic, I have few car related tools and no garage so it would be ideal if someone could buy the whole thing, drive it away and dismantle it themselves. The car is located in Aberdeen, I would happily meet a buyer off the train and escort them to the vehicle at my property to hand over the cash and keys (15 minute walk).
