Rear brake calipers

Post by Captain Jack »

Hi,

Does anyone have a driver's side rear brake caliper "lying around" for the HDI 110 saloon model? Mine is completely seized :( I tried reconditioning it a few years ago and it seemed OK for a little bit but is now worse than ever. So, before I turn to eBay ....

Also, will one from a Coupe do the job or they different fits (not at home, so no idea of my Service box login).

All rear calipers are the same.

I went for ebay in the end, one was seized so they gave me most of the money back. Then I used some penetrating lube and a vice, managed to free it off.

The ones I have aren't particularly good, as I bought a second hand pair off Omega, had them reconditioned and fitted to the car, so they are the ones that came off, but the reason they came off was they were seizing up

I'm pretty sure when I looked then, the rear calipers (with rear brakes with discs) were the same 4400 H8 and 4400 H9 across the range, and a quick look on SB seems to confirm this

I have one,i was keeping as a spare for my old 52 Rapier but my Exec came with a newish one so i don't think i'll be needing it.Bit of a pig to change but it is possible to do leaving the rad and condenser in situ.

Is it a pig? Looks easy... undo top and bottom hoses, pull it out and ... no?

When i say a bit of a pig,if i remember right when i helped a mate of mine change his a long while back it seemed awkward,if i remember the bottom outlet of the intercooler snagged on the rad shroud and we had to trim a chunk of it off to clear it,it was an older 406 110 so perhaps the later ones are different.
