99 D8.5 HDi110 GLX

Post by plod »

Not having much interest in breaking my car so anyone interested in taking off my hands to either repair, rob the goodies or break?

Spec roughly:
110 hdi110 remapped to 140
Power flow exhaust
K&N
Executive leather
Leather steering wheel
Custom dash
Black ash trim
Ali dash rings
17's w/ 225/45/17 2 tyres with 3k, 2 with 10k on ie loads of tread
Colour coded
Rear Spoiler
D9 air vents, centre console, handbrake button
Colour coded lion emblem boot release

High miles but shifts really well and still avg 42mpg

Ignition shorted and as starter motor stuck on I believe it burnt it out
Replaced ignition with brand new wiring but starter still needs sorting
Battery gone flat with sitting
Biggest thing is hailstorm damage but still looks nice from 20metres away

Would like it gone so offers please
Will go on eBay in a few days time

Check out "plods hdi140" thread
Just missing strut brace which I sold to doggy

So finally stopped procrastinating ( guess I just don't want to see her go ) I put the car on eBay late last night.
Got 24 watchers and one message to ask how much to end early.
I was thinking £400 to cover fees (£10 to list, plus final value fees)
However, message is from someone with zero feedback
Should I be worried if I said cash on collection only?

I stay away from 0 feedbackers.

Oh... do you have an engine undertray still?? Although, the D8 one is different from D9 one, isn't it?

Don't worry too much about the zero feedback - if they come & give you the cash for the car, you'd be happy enough. The only thing I would advise (& this applies whether they have zero or 1000 feedback) is not to end the listing until the money is in your hand & they've left with the car.

@CJ no sorry think it walked when clutch was changed

Had another message from someone asking for contact details so will see what comes of that first as they at least have feedback :)

There is a starter I could get off the bay for £18 and i've messaged the seller and got the vin off him, and it appears to be the same part number
From what I can tell, the starter motor might be a pretty universal part

Was really struggling for any spare cash, but think in this instance, i'd be better biting the bullet, buy the starter, get it fitted and sell as a runner.

Think if the weather DOESN'T do as predicted, then i'll pull the starter off mine, test it to make sure, and get then get this one bought if no one else bids on it

I'm sure you can pull up to 24hrs prior to end of auction, so i've got till saturday night to sort.
Battery is off at mo and on charge
