mfd unit wanted

I have just tried to repair my mfd as it was difficult to read now i have nothing !!! should have left alone ! so i am looking for another unit its the sat nav one does not have to be perfect as long as its readable and cheap ish

There's one on eBay but they go for silly prices. It's not just a matter of blow bulbs, is it?

Why do these displays die so often? It's the same issue with original 407 screens...

I don't suppose the 407 MFD will fit the 406?

There doesn't seem to be any rhyme nor reason for it as you can see an older high mileage car with a perfect display and a low mileage newer car with a knackered one.I bought one of ebay a while back and it was totaly unreadable with more lines than script.You never see the standard non sat nav screens go bad.

There are more "shades" on these fancy type C displays but I am not sure what actually dies. The electronics or the screen itself. Like you say, the standard ones never fail and will happy tell you in clear writing if there's an ANTI-POLLUTION or ABS FAULT...

I have my old one for sale,it has a few missing vertical lines each end worse on the left but the middle is o.k.,the screen gets better the longer it's been on.The surround has some scrathces top right but it's only a 2 minute job changing your own over.Open to offers.

I am happy to offer that price for it, plus £5 postage. I have a black surround in my 2004 ( silver was scabby ) so you can keep yours as a spare if you like?
