Breaking 2003 406 2.2 SE HDi saloon or Whole car for sale

Following parts available:-

- 2.5'' T304 stainless steel cat/dpf back system with mandrel bands with 3'' single round back box, 1 year old - £225

- 2x good quality lower arms with poly bushes fitted, only on car 2 months - £100

- Brembo calipers with braided hoses £200

- Rear lower suspension brace (been on car 1 year) £30

- Rear spoiler, brand new, never painted £40

- Coupe front upper strut brace £15

Whole car also available, £850. MOT july 2014, tax until end of december, starts, drives fine, turbo good, good box and clutch, cambelt kit fitted last year, new raditors and aicon rad fitted, new discs/pads, hoses fitted all round last year, good tyres also fitted last year. Just had oil service

Well, I will break it if I cant sell it. The car scrap value and all the tuning bits I have added are worth £800 so I will take £800 for the car. Mileage is 147k, I will try and get some pics up in the next day or 2.

Aircon doesnt work, even after a new aircon rad fitted and regas
drivers airbag on...sometimes goes off if the seat is adjusted.
CD changer doesnt work
17 TSW alloy wheels - are beyond their best - but good tyres all round, 225/45 fitted last year
Dent in front wing, scuff on drivers door
2 dents in rear wing
dent in boot lid
scratch in front driver's door

Thats about it. The engine, turbo, box, clutch, suspension and brakes are fine. Its had new drop links, bottom arms with poly bushes, rear tie rods, drop links. new brembo discs/pads/braided hoses all round last year, and new radiator last year.

Reason for sale is I have just bought a 940 estate ( I do WW2 reenactment and sometimes have 3-4 people car sharing and I cant fit everyone's crap in the saloon hence why I am getting rid) Just need car gone now. It had a new cam belt kit, uprated pulley, water pump and aux belt fitted last year by frenchc car specialists at cost of over £500, its just had oil/filter service. Engine pulls hard, no smoke, turbo healthy - must be making 170bhp easily.

Possibly the pressure switch.

So definitely the usual dodgy connectors under the seat then.

Ok if they're scuffed to buggery but if not there's always paint. Besides, I think most of us would bin them anyway and fit the originals.

Depends how bad it all is if they can be beaten out/painted or if it'll need new panels.

Btw I'm not saying "this car is too good to break", it's up to you what you do with it and if you consider it not worth fixing then that's fair enough.

Sadly the value of these motors in the UK probably reduces sales like this into a toss up between breaking it (and maybe making more dollars) if you're able to, or have the room, or selling it as-is

I dont want to break the car and to be honest it will cause me hassle as after Sunday I will have two cars but only one parking space where I live and space is at a premium so it really needs to be gone soon. If I had not spent a fair few hundred on the brembos and doing the brakes, then spending £450 on the exhaust system I wouldn't break it, just put it through an auction and see what she fetches. The issue with the airbag light is something to do with the seat as if you adjust the seat it sometimes goes away. I am not sure about the air con, it has been re gassed and has had a new aircon rad fitted, so not sure on that one. The rims are awful I know the reason they are on is only because when I did the brembo conversion the Hoggars I had on there wouldn't fit so a friend had that set lying around so said I could have them, the bonus is that it had new tires last year but I believe they would need major work to refurb. I was going to just change them for some starfishes. Forgot to add, the silver trim around the lion on the grill is missing. I also bought a new rear boot badge to replace the faded one but this appears to have faded too.

I have a front wing that I will include in the sale, also will include the genuine rear spoiler and genuine sculpted mud flaps that I bought. Here are the pics which I quickly took this morning:- Forgot to add it had a new starter motor fitted earlier this year, it also has the executive rear parcel shelf with blind, genuine headlight protectors and non smokers kit.

Car looks quite nice but those rims definitely don't do it justice and will make it fetch much less than it is worth...

Should you decide to break it - which is a shame but sometimes the best way forward - I would be interested in the headlight protectors, non-smokers kit and the mud flaps... ( makes me sound really old... )

I have just had my Hoggars refurbished so as much as I want the Brembos, I don't want to get rid of my Hoggars either..

Looks alright, the damage is only superficial but those wheels really don't help.

Can I suggest a *really* good clean up inside, I've always found that can sell a car on its own.
