2001 110 Exec estate - spares or repair

As title. My bro's old exec has a broken front spring, but is otherwise OK and has a few months MOT.
Good engine/box, about 140k miles, reasonable black leather interior, (in need of a clean).
If there are no takers, it'll get weighed in at the end of January.
Anyone wanting the whole car would have to collect it from Corby, NN17.
Enquires for bits are welcome too.

If that's all that's wrong with it (a broken spring) then it's not an overly expensive job to get it back on the road. I think I paid £230 to replace mine on the old D8? And if he still doesn't want it, he can sell it...

I think it was kinda getting ready to be laid up anyways so spending money on it just to get not much more money back probably doesn't appeal. Be a shame for another 406 to get bridged though but hey.

Trouble is he's a self-employed plumber, so the back's been full of kit and unlikely to clean up very well. The same goes for the interior, which is customarily full of soggy lurcher.

The plan was to try to sell it for £350/£400, or scrap it if no interest. The broken spring just hastened it's demise - it wouldn't be sensible spending any money on it.

Yeah, fair enough. It does get to a point where there's no sense in getting it going. But... could still be a good bargain for someone.

I keep toying with the idea of getting a 2.2HDI Coupe but... wedding, new house, babies... come first

I might have some1 interested hes electric s have gone mad on his 1 so looking for replace ment is there anything else wrong with it and was any more damage caused when spring snapped and wat side is it

It's the NSF spring, snapped as he was reversing out of his drive. He just drove it back in and swung it onto the grass to clear the drive for the other one, so we don't think anything else is damaged, but can't be sure. Back box is off, (to remove the towbar), but apart from that and some trim round the rear lights removed to access the wiring, it's complete. (Still have all those items).
